Pro-Life Group
The Church’s pro-life mission is to uphold the sacredness of life from conception to natural death. We proclaim that every human life, unique and unrepeatable, is a precious gift from God; that each person who receives this gift has responsibilities toward God, self, and others; and that society, through its laws and social institutions, must protect and nurture human life at every stage of its existence. Each of us is a masterpiece of God’s creation. Faith opens our eyes to human life in all of its grandeur and beauty.
There are two 40 Days for Life prayer vigils held during the year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Members of our church community are encouraged to witness outside of Planned Parenthood in Springfield and to pray the rosary. Those who cannot join in the sidewalk witness are invited to spend an hour before the Blessed Sacrament as prayer partners. We also hold collections for basic necessities like diapers, onesies and clothing, as well as financial contributions, which are donated to Bethlehem House, which provides support for women and families who have chosen life.
